Really moving fandom this time?

So, with Facebook, Twitter, and LiveJournal having some kind of internet ménage à trois, are we really, really moving fandom over here to Dreamwidth?

And how long will it take me to re-find everyone I follow?

LJ go boom?

Where, oh where, has LJ gone? I can't get in! Oh noes!

And now summer really starts!

So, school's done, workshop's done, and I can actually have a day off tomorrow. Huzzah!

Saw Transformers today. It wasn't as good as the first one, true, but it was over 2 hours of escapist fun. Also, lunch was excellent.

Everything Old is New Again

The world comes full circle: I am again obsessed with K/S thanks to the new Trek movie.

And thanks to people posting vid clips of interviews with CP and ZQ, I can now talk in public about my new 'spork' obsession, and everyone who's out of the loop thinks I'm talking about eating utensils.

Speaking of which, ThinkGeek has a Star Fleet Academy titanium spork for sale HERE because the internet is awesome like that.

Eight Days

That's all that's left until I say bye-bye to my students for the summer. Huzzah!

I was going to go see Up today, but was too lazy to get out of the house. Plus, laundry. Clean clothes, kind of necessary for life. Gah, my existence is mundane. Work, home, work, home... work at home?

Speaking of mundane, I heard a rumor about a movie about Susan Boyle's life. WTF? I get that she's a good singer, and awesome for her and her new fame. But, seriously, a bio-pic? Of what, exactly? Work, home, work, home... are they gonna film my life, too?

Sad thing in Fandom

Terminator was good, but turning right around and seeing Star Trek for the second time was not such a great idea. Kyle and Chekov are the same actor. Weird.

It's a sad thing in fandom, or in a new (rebooted?) fandom to get all excited that a favorite fanfic author has posted a massive story... for a pairing I don't like. Damn it.

On the other hand, yay! for new stories in an old fandom. And shiny new actors.

Speaking of shiny, I came *this close* to leasing a new car. A shiny, shiny, tiny hybrid. Oh, sure, logic asserted itself. I refrained. But I don't want to. I want that car. Grrr.

Sinner

Took myself off to see Angels and Demons this afternoon. I remember liking this book better than The Da Vinci Code, both in terms of story and timing of the reveal of clues.

For the movie, Ewan McGregor as a priest... yummy! Oh, yeah, and conspiracy and murder, too. But mostly hot Ewan as really hot Patrick. I almost wish he'd gotten elected pope. It would have brought a lot more people back to the church. Heh.

After the movie, I went to the really-too-expensive chocolate shop that opened last month. Purchased some truffles and a caramel apple. Haven't tried the chocolates yet, but the apple is not my thing. I've never had one before, and won't be eating another. Just not my thing, I guess.

Movie!

Saw 'Wolverine' last week and 'Star Trek' this morning. Liked 'em both, though I'm a little confused about Spock's age relative to the rest of the crew... I thought he was older, on the show, than comes across in the movie. I may have to go see it again, to clear up my confusion. That'd be a hardship.

Whatever.

Hope everyone's having a happy Mum's day. We celebrated yesterday, due to work schedules, but I ended up *not* going out to lunch after today's movie due to everyone else on the planet taking their moms out to eat.

Did you call your mom?

First!

Oh, look, I have a DW account. Excellent.

I feel like I should make some sort of virtual flag and claim this land in the name of Spain.

Now, the question arises. How long will it take to reconnect to all the groups and people I follow on LJ who have jumped over here to DW?
